No-shows are charged in full. Full details: Policies, Terms & Conditions.
Email info@thewoollybuggerinn.com or call (970) 821-8947. We'll confirm by email once it's done. What's possible depends on your rate — see the question above.
The total you see when you book includes the nightly rate, cleaning fee, and state and local taxes. Bringing a dog adds a pet fee of $20 per dog, per night (two dogs max), which you can add at checkout. Taxes and fees are non-refundable.
We do. Trips to the mountains can be unpredictable, and insurance can reimburse your trip if illness, weather, travel delays or other surprises change your plans. Spot Trip Insurance is an easy option when booking with us directly.
Yes. The person booking must be 21 or older and stay for the whole reservation. We'll ask for a valid photo ID matching the reservation name, and bookings made on someone else's behalf aren't permitted — ask us if you have a special situation.
Each cabin and room has a firm maximum occupancy, and day guests need our OK first. Events and parties (weddings, reunions, photoshoots and the like) aren't allowed. Traveling with a bigger group? We're happy to book several units together — just search with your full party and we'll suggest combinations.
Arrival & check-in
Check in any time after 3 PM; check out by 10 AM.
Our cleaning schedule rarely allows early check-in or late check-out, but ask and we'll do our best. If you're in town early, we'll send you some favorite spots and let you know the moment your place is ready.
Arriving after 10 PM? Give us a heads-up so we can help you get settled.
Check-in is contactless. Your check-in details and personal door code arrive by email the morning of your arrival, so you can head straight to your cabin after 3 PM — no front desk needed. Need a hand? Call or text (970) 821-8947.
Every unit has its own assigned spot — there's no street parking. Your check-in email shows where yours is. Bringing a second car? There are overflow areas on the property; we'll point you to the closest one.
During your stay
Yes! The inn has a private quarter-mile stretch of the Big Thompson. Please follow our fishing rules:
- Barbless catch-and-release only.
- Anyone 16 or older needs a Colorado fishing license.
- Hold off when the water is above 66°F — the fish won't survive release. Borrow our stream thermometer from the supply room.
- Stay on our stretch; signs mark the property lines.
- Fishing is for inn guests — ask us before inviting a day guest.
Every cabin and suite has a private hot tub, except the three tiny homes (Chipmunk, Ptarmigan and Snowshoe Hare), which share a hot tub in winter — ask us for details. Please read and share our hot tub policy with your group.
Yes, in our dog-friendly units — up to two well-behaved dogs at $20 per dog, per night. Choose "Bringing a dog?" when you search to see them, add the pet fee at checkout, and read our pet policy. Undisclosed pets carry a $250 fee. Service animals are always welcome.
Wi-Fi: we have it, but we're in a small mountain town and it can be spotty. We wouldn't count on it for important video calls — ask us for nearby coworking spots.
Some of our buildings are a century old — part of the charm, not great for streaming.
Your place is all yours — there's no daily cleaning. Need fresh towels, linens or anything else? Just call or email.
This is bear country — bears, elk and mountain lions all live around Estes Park. Please help keep them wild:
- Put all trash in the bear-proof dumpster and latch it.
- Never leave food, coolers, trash or scented items outside or in your car.
- Bring dishes and grill tools inside to wash, and burn food off the grill before closing it.
- Lock your cabin and car at night.
Colorado is very wildfire-prone. Follow any fire restrictions posted on our Trail Register at the entrance, never leave a fire or grill unattended, drown fires with water and stir the embers until cold, and don't burn trash or use gasoline. No fireworks.
- Quiet hours are 10 PM to 8 AM — sound travels in the mountains.
- All buildings are smoke-free, including porches and decks. Smoking indoors carries a cleaning fee of $300 or more.
- No fireworks, recreational firearms or weapons on site.
- No tent, car or RV camping on the grounds — we're not zoned as a campground.
- Please keep your door code private.
- We're on a delicate septic system: flush only toilet paper.
The full list is in our Policies, Terms & Conditions.
The area
We're in the Big Thompson Canyon, about 8 minutes from downtown Estes Park. The park's Fall River and Beaver Meadows entrances are each about 15–20 minutes away. Check RMNP's timed-entry permit page before you go — reservations are often required in summer and fall.
